Queen’s Landing, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
One of the jewels in the Vintage Hotels crown, Queen’s Landing is on the waterfront in this history-rich community. Much of the story of modern Canada was solidified here with the battle of Queenston Heights where the British battalions triumphed over the invading forces from the south.
Queen’s Landing was only recently build in 1990 on the property of the Old Niagara Harbour and Dock Company incorporated in 1831. Its architecture reflects the Georgian Era, a style born during the reigns of the British monarchs George I to George IV, a time in which Upper Canada began to flourish with the Loyalists’ retreat from the New American colonies.
Executive Chef Marc Lyons learned his craft at Niagara Culinary Institute but honed his culinary passion long before then. He’s a natural. And his menus, whether it’s in the 5 star Tiara Dining Room or in the Bacchus Lounge, are dedicated to the farmers and producers of this wine-drenched region.
This year, the hotel won’t be open but there will be some limited patio service. These chefs and hoteliers are rock stars!
