Euston Park Social Beer Garden, Moncton, New Brunswick

“The best journey you take is home.”  And home they came.  New Brunswickers Chef Gene and Susan Cormier decided to plant a shipping container in an area 0f Moncton that needed a neat beer garden with great food.  “After years of travelling our journey has brought us back to what we love the most, gourmet camping trips, leisurely dinners with great friends and family and the relaxed East Coast lifestyle. We bring our culinary travels, love of the outdoors and innovative food and beverage to create a place to slow down, take a breath and enjoy great company.”

It’s a simple concept – you order at the window and find a picnic table.  Named after the street Euston Park, the restaurant is close to not only the Hal Betts Sportsplex but also the Petitcodiac River.

The beers are all locally brewed from Flying Boats and Pump House to Grand Monk, Celtic Knot and Cavok.  There’s also the delicious Verger Belliveau Cider. Like the beers, the menu is simple and hyper-local. Try the smoked herring banh mi with shellfish brandade or a pork schintzel burger.  There’s a ‘community salad’ from a number of New Brunswick farms with an ice wine dressing.

They’ve taken their hospitality to two other locations…Parlee Beach and their new downtown restaurant Clos! They each have their own personalities..sandy/summery; community/fun and absolutely elegant.

It’s great to have the Cormiers take part in this year’s Food Day Canada ~ Journée des terroirs.
