Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College

George Brown College’s Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (CHCA )provides world-class education to over 3,000 full-time and 8,500 continuing education students every year. Programmes are developed in consultation with industry experts and taught by a distinguished group of experienced faculty. Most importantly, CHCA underpins classroom study with experiential learning through study tours, field placements, training at The Chefs’ House restaurant, and in state of the art labs.

Industry partners work with CHCA to make ensure that their chef training programs are current and cutting edge, and that their students get insights and education not found in textbooks. Our Program Advisory Committees (PAC) ensure that the curriculum is forward thinking, so students are job-ready.

Whether in the classroom, during special lectures, on-site visits or through field placement externships, students meet, learn from and are inspired by some of the most exciting chefs cooking today. Our 14-week externships will prepare you for fast-paced work environments by giving you hands-on training in the city’s best restaurants and hotels.

Industry partnerships extend far beyond Toronto with study placement abroad in world-renowned schools from Alma, La Scuola Internationale di Cucina Italiana, Italy to Shanghai Institute of Tourism, China to name only two.
