When it comes to blending art and creativity, Crave’s Chef Jonathan Thauberger has a natural talent. His proletarian work ethic mixed with his well-honed culinary instincts are always on point when building dishes in the kitchen or for Food Day Canada.
Jonathan loves food and was meant to be a chef. He is most at home breaking down local mushrooms when they arrive in bulk or preparing his amazing duck confit. Jonathan makes all of his own charcuterie. Hours are spent considering new products and determining growers to reach out to; and the excitement when a connection is made is palpable for all of those in the restaurant — because of Jonathan. He particularly appreciates the producers who are instilled with the same work ethic as he is
This restaurant has great champions from Heliotrope Organic Farm, Stellar Gourmet Mushrooms, Green Sisters, Reid’s Butchery and R + J Milling to North Prairie Family Farms, Quill Creek Bison and Over the Hill Orchards. His menus are a virtual Saskatchewan shopping list.
