The World’s Longest Barbecue celebration coincides with BC Day, and that’s given us a perfect excuse to indulge in the amazing food this province produces!

This year, to honour the late, great Julia Child, who would have turned 97 on Aug. 15, we’re approaching the BBQ with a bit of a French accent.

Here’s what we have planned:

To nibble and sip:
Selection of Oyama pâtés with Terra breads
Armstrong cheddar cheese straws
BC Flip Cocktail (Victoria Gin, Fraser Valley raspberries, lemon, egg white)

To begin:
West Coast-style salade niçoise with planked B.C. salmon, Maple Hill Farm hard-cooked, eggs, Pemberton potatoes, local greens and garden tarragon vinaigrette

To continue:
Grilled Fraser Valley lamb chops with garden mint pesto
Grill-roasted Pemberton potatoes with rosemary

To drink:
See Ya Later Ranch Chardonnay
Quail’s Gate Old Vines Foch

To pause:
BC cheese and fruit plate

To finish:
Fraser Valley raspberry cake with Avalon Dairy whipped cream
Sumac Ridge Stellers Jay Brut
