Edmonton City Market Food Festival

On July 31, as part of our ongoing Festival Series, and in celebration of Food Day Canada, Edmonton City Market will be showcasing some great Edmonton chefs with cooking demos* featuring local products from some of our City Market vendors.

Demos begin at 10 a.m. with Chef Brad Smoliak showcasing his incredible Ukrainian Eggs Benedict paired with a fresh vegetable salad.

At 11 p.m. and 1 p.m. Elaine Wilson, personal chef and owner of Allium Foodworks , demonstrates how you can make great Thai food at home using local City Market ingredients.

Our noon spot features Chef Blair Lebsack of Madison’s Grill in the Union Bank Inn. Chef Blair will be preparing his Guinea Fowl Clubhouse Sandwich with products from Greens Eggs and Ham and Irvings Farm Fresh.

At 2 p.m. Chef Duane Hicks of The Blue Plate Diner will show us how to prepare Grilled Portabello Mushroom Crostini with goat cheese, mixed greens and poached duck eggs.

de Vine Wines’ Canadian product specialist will be offering drink pairing suggestions and Slow Food Edmonton will be on hand to promote local food and great local food events. See more of what de Vine Wines.

Cookbooks by Brad Smoliak and Juliana Mimande will be for sale at the Info Tent and Juliana will be sampling some products from her book We Eat Together from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.Volunteers will also be on hand at the Market Info Tent collecting donations for E4C – Edmonton’s School Lunch Program.
