Bailey Tapscott Last Minute BBQ

I just returned from holidays to a pile of laundry and a house that looked like a tornado hit and had forgotten that today was Canada Food Day, and wasn’t sure I was up to hosting a Food Day BBQ, but finaly yesterday morning I figured I could do it (with lots of help from my family….).
So I e-mailed a bunch of friends and invited any who were around and had no plans. We ended up with 10 of us, had BBQ Ontario pork sausages and chicken kabobs, with fresh beans from our garden, an asiago potato salad that a friend made, crudite platter with cherry tomatoes, zucchini, carrots and kohlrabi from our garden.
Dessert was rhubarb crisp from another friend’s garden and Ontario peaches and blueberries with ice cream.
Even though it rained lightly, adults ate outside under our gazebo….a great meal with good friends…
