From Coast to Coast – Food Day Chefs at Rideau Hall

It was a great day for Canada’s culinary professionals when the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond launched the first Awards in Celebration of the Nation’s Table.

Frederique and Sinclair Philip of Sooke Harbour House , Jamie Kennedy of Gilead and Michael Stadtlander and the inimitable John Bishop of Bishops in Vancouver, were among the first honorees.  The glittering evening because with the presentation of heraldry and continued well into the night, spilling over into Restaurant 18 for the after party.

Some of the Food Day participants who were there – Mary Beaton and Bill Bennett from Langdon Hall Country House Hotel and Spa; Bill Redelmeier from  Niagara’s Southbrook Winery ; Anne Desjardins and Pierre Audette from L’eau a la Bouche , Travis Teows, President of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association; Food Day CEO and Media Post writer, Brad Stewart and Food Day Founder and Nation’s Table Advisor, Anita Stewart.

Pictured  with Her Excellency  are two Advisory Council members, Robert Clark from Vancouver and Chris Aerni from New Brunswick’s Rossmount Inn.
