Farmhouse Tavern, Toronto

Describing themselves as “Serving farmhouse hospitality. Rooted in the charming influences of the rural Ontario farmhouse. A little bit country/ A lot rock & roll. Cooking a blackboard menu of farm driven food. Pouring Ontario craft brews + VQA juice.” Sounds like this place was made with Food Day Canada in mind!  This will be their 5th anniversary and also the 5th time they’ve cooked Canadian with us on Food Day Canada.

Owner Darcy MacDonnell (former GM of La Societe and alumni of Oliver Bonacini Restaurants) created his restaurant as homage to his parents and his rural Ontario roots.

Equipped with a herb garden and custom-built tractor-smoker on the patio that they use for vegetables, meat and OYSTERS , don’t let the tractor seats and barn doors fool you- this food ROCKS.

Toronto Life named it as one of their 13 best brunch spots and the Toronto Star called it a ‘taste of country heaven’.
