Vanilla Cream Delight

• 2 eggs
• 1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar
• 2 tsp (10 mL) cornstarch
• 1-½ cups (375 mL) milk
• 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla

Beat eggs lightly in medium bowl and set aside. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a
medium saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture
boils and thickens slightly. Remove from heat. Stir about one-third of the hot mixture
slowly into eggs. Return egg mixture to saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat just until
mixture thickens, about 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Cover surface
completely with plastic wrap. Cool to room temperature. Chill.

Makes 1¾ cups or 425 mL.

DÉLICE DE CRÈME À LA VANILLE

Pour un dessert des plus délicieux, servir sur des fruits frais et des petits fruits ou sur votre
gâteau ou crème glacée préférés.

• 2 œufs
• 1/4 tasse (50 mL) de sucre
• 2 c. à thé (10 ml ) de fécule de maïs
• 1-½ tasse (375 ml )de lait
• 1/2 c. à thé (2 ml) vanille

Battre les œufs légèrement dans un bol de taille moyenne et mettre de côté. Mélanger le sucre
et la fécule de maïs dans une casserole de taille moyenne. Ajouter graduellement le lait. Cuire et
mélanger à feu moyen jusqu’à ce que le mélange se mette à bouillir et épaississe légèrement.
Retirer du feu. Ajouter graduellement environ un tiers du mélange chaud aux œufs. Remettre le
mélange d’œufs dans la casserole. Cuire et mélanger à feu doux jusqu’à ce que le mélange
épaississe, soit environ une minute. Enlever du feu. Ajouter la vanille. Couvrir complètement la
surface avec une pellicule de plastique. Laisser refroidir à la température ambiante. Réfrigérer.

Donne 1¾ tasse ou 425 ml.
