With his best buddy, Chef Bernard Casavant, Rod Butters has helped to define British Columbia cuisine.  He’s a great chef and this casual new restaurant, with Audrey running the front of the house, allows Rod the freedom from his open kitchen to interact with his guests.  The best seat in the house is at the long communal table with a full view of the action in the kitchen.

I love his oat-crusted Arctic char on a bed of bitter greens. The Dungeness crab bisque is thick with sweet crabmeat. The wine list is long and local with a great selection, by the taste and by the glass. You can build your own cocktails with Okanagan fruit and whatever liquor is in the RauDZ cupboard. In 2010 RauDZ celebrated FOOD DAY CANADA by honoring the local, homegrown tomato. The French call it “the apple of love”, the Germans, “the apple of paradise”, and we just plain love the tomato. Thanks to the Okanagan farmers for supporting food day 365 days of the year!
