Moraine Lake is quintessential Rockies. This is the picture postcard that symbolizes a Canadian mountain-scape.
Located in Banff National Park, Moraine Lake Lodge Chef Steven Lay’s (pictured at left) menu exhibits the ingredients of the region…buffalo, venison, B.C. salmon and Alberta beef!
Not only is their food sustainably procured and prepared, Moraine Lake Lodge’s owners wrote this: “Working in harmony with nature, the Lodge is almost self sufficient. When you turn on your tap, you are experiencing some of the freshest water in the world as it comes directly from an alpine mountain well. We generate our own power and transport all waste safely out of the area. We attempt to reduce, re-use, and recycle wherever possible to protect our precious landscape.” Doesn’t get better than that!
Chef Lay also oversees the culinary side of operations at Cathedral Mountain Lodge.
