Envers of Morriston, Morriston, Ontario
Since it opened, 32 years ago, Envers of Morriston has been a haven for fine dining in the Guelph, K-W, Kitchener area.
Chef Lee Wilcock forages the region for great ingredients. His menu is very seasonal and he has a classic touch with his presentations. Start with Enver’s duck liver pate with his homemade pickles and onion confit or a platter of local charcuterie from Trotters, a downtown Guelph butcher store that is taking the region by storm. All the baking is done in-house. \
There’s Lake Erie fish and Ontario venison on the menu with wild leeks which grow in profusion in secret places around the region. Save space for “coffee and doughnuts’ … a riff on the standard with French pastry cream, salted caramel sauce and coffee-cocoa nib crumble. The Envers wine list has been blessed by the Wine Spectator.
